Selection Process for Staff Selection Commission CGL Posts 2019 for Combined Graduate Level Group B, Group C:
Selection Procedure of Staff Selection Commission CGL for the Combined Graduate Level Group B, Group C will be based on these stages –
- Tier-I – Computer Based Examination
- Tier-II – Computer Based Examination
- Tier-III – Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
- Tier-IV – Computer Proficiency Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification.
SSC CGL 2019 Exam Pattern:
SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern –
- SSC CGL Tier-1 will be held tentatively from 4th – 19th June 2019.
- The online exam will be conducted comprising of 4 sections with about 100 questions in total and with maximum Marks 200.
- The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes.
The penalty of the Wrong Answer – There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut off. No point will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted by a candidate.

SSC CGL Tier-2 Exam Pattern –
- SSC CGL Tier-2 will be conducted tentatively from 11th – 13th September 2019.
- The online exam will be conducted comprising of 4 sections with about 100 questions in each section and with maximum Marks 200.

SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam Pattern
- SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. It will be conducted in two steps – DEST Test & CPT Test.
DEST – Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s writing skills.
CPT – This test is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Generation of Slides.
